Mission
To offer free access to an integrated knowledge base for health care providers and patient advocates, locally and globally, thereby changing the paradigm of medicine as it is practiced today.
Background
There is both a public demand and an overwhelming need for a paradigm shift towards medicine where patient safety, accurate health information, availability of a wide range of medical treatment options and improved outcomes are the rule rather than the exception.
A paradigm, in which deaths from medical error are greatly reduced (over 250,000 deaths per year from medical errors in the US, for example [JAMA, July, 2004]). A paradigm in which medicine is integrative, bringing the best options from around the world into treatment plans.
Most medicine is currently based on symptom control and does not necessarily include education for the patient on what can be done to correct underlying problems. Moreover, patient’s health knowledge is often based on advertising by product and pharmaceutical manufacturers whose intent is to sell products and raise profits.

There are countless non-integrated healthcare & medical databases and thousands of patient advocacy organizations online. Utilizing today’s advancements in IT, HHP will become the trusted interactive network and community of healthcare providers and patient advocates that will provide the basis for a living knowledge database of healthcare solutions from around the globe.

- Offer our services free of charge to health practitioners, patient advocates and finally to universities and the public worldwide.
- Foster “open-source” uploading (borrowed from the Open Source free software phenomenon, whereby software developers donate their time for free to build software on an networked collaborative basis, the code of which is “open”, available to everyone to use), making it possible for health care providers and patient advocacies worldwide to build a living information system, much like Wikipedia’s IT uploading programming.
- Standardize all information with a Code of Ethics and Constitution for accuracy of source and content from health care providers and patient advocates.
- Integrate online forum-style peer consultation of diagnosis or condition.
- Foster ever-growing database of patient advocate outcomes and strategies.
- Create a global community of health knowledge, online and offline.

Activating and Accomplishing Our Mission
HHP is committed to creating a community based upon a living, growing collaboration of knowledge and support amongst advocates, healthcare professionals, universities and consumers.
Phase One:
- Create an interactive network of patient advocates and health practitioners.
- Populate our “Open-Source” healthcare knowledge base with healthcare treatment options and education.
Phase Two:
- Engage collaboration amongst universities and educational institutions of health and medicine to design an integrative evaluation format as well as conduct and disseminate outcome studies in an interactive format. The evaluation will be independently managed to ensure objectivity of results and maximize demonstration of the principles outlined in our Code of Ethics.
Phase Three:
- HHP to become a trusted source and practical tool so the general public has free access to our integrated knowledge base and thereby become knowledgeable partners in optimizing their health care options and outcomes.
